With Plannit, it’s easy to know where your resources are during a run. As an administrator, you can quickly view their current location and the route they’ve taken using the trace feature – all in just a few steps. This feature becomes available as soon as a run is started.

❗ In order to track the movement of resources during a run, they must first authorize GPS location access on their mobile device for the Plannit app.

Learn how to activate this feature:

❗ All resources assigned to the run must join the run from a mobile phone or tablet in order to be tracked via GPS.

If a resource does not join the run, no tracking or trace data will be generated for them.

Once the run is started by the assigned resource(s), you can track their position in the field using resource markers on a map.

You can also view the trace of a run to see every GPS point recorded by Plannit. This feature is especially useful to provide undeniable proof that your team visited the customer location.

▪️ Locate my resources on a Map

To view the real-time location of your resources on a map:

  1. Go to the Runs tab in the Routes menu.

  2. Select one or more active runs.

  3. On the map, you’ll see markers labelled with the initials of your resources.
Click a marker to view the full name and the time of the last update.

▪️ View the GPS trace of a run

📝 The trace may take several seconds to load depending on the number of addresses in the run and the number of GPS points recorded. If there are several hundred GPS points, navigation on the map may be slower.

To view the trace of a run:

  1. Go to the Runs tab in the Routes menu.

  2. Open the run you want to inspect.

  3. Inside the run, click the Actions button and select Show Trace.

  4. Once the trace is displayed on the map, you will see:

    • Each completed address, shown in green with its execution sequence number.

📝 Missed visits will appear in grey, and errored visits in red.

    • Every GPS point recorded by Plannit during the run.
Click on a point to view details such as the time, resource name, and the related transition (e.g., Started or Completed) if the point triggered an automation.
