Customize fields on my Plannit forms

Add custom fields on work orders, invoices, quotes, contacts and jobs to capture information specific to your operations.

You can add fields to your contacts, jobs, quotes, invoices and visits/work orders to capture important information specific to your operations. There are internal fields used to facilitate follow-ups and communication with your teams.

Custom fields can be used for an infinite number of scenarios such as :

  • Creating task lists by location, department type, etc.

  • Capturing serial numbers and/or warranty numbers to facilitate future maintenance.

  • Capturing dimensions that you want to keep on file.

  • Flagging things to your technicians in one click.

  • Etc.

How to create custom fields

The fields are created from the Custom Fields menu in the settings :

  • Choose the section where you want to add the field·s.

  • Click on + Add a custom field.

  • Select the type of field.

Custom fields by type

Type Text and Paragraph

  • Text : Alphanumeric characters that fit in one line.

  • Paragraph : Text without limits on # of characters appropriate for longer paragraphs.

  • Field label : Name your custom field in English or French.

  • Default value : Choose the value that will show by default when you create your documents.

  • Copy the value to new : The chosen value will copy itself unto the next documentation when using recurrence.

Type Number

  • Number : Can contain decimals.

  • Field label : Name your custom field in English or French.

  • Default value : Choose the value that will show by default when you create your documents.

  • Copy the value to new : The chosen value will copy itself unto the next documentation when using recurrence.

Type On / Off

  • On / Off : "Toggle" to active / desactivate the value.

  • Field label : Name your custom field in English or French.

  • Default value : Choose the value that will show by default when you create your documents.

  • Copy the value to new : The chosen value will copy itself unto the next documentation when using recurrence.

Type Date

  • Date : Choice of date from the calendar.

  • Field label : Name your custom field in English or French.

  • Default value : Choose the value that will show by default when you create your documents.

  • Copy the value to new : The chosen value will copy itself unto the next documentation when using recurrence.

Type Drop-down list

  • Dropdown : One or more option·s from the list can apply.

  • Field label : Name your custom field in English or French.

  • Default value : Choose the value that will show by default when you create your documents.

  • Copy the value to new : The chosen value will copy itself unto the next documentation when using recurrence.

  • Radio button : Only one option from the list applies.

  • Field label : Name your custom field in English or French.
