Get conversion events into your Google Analytics 4

This will help you track your conversion events directly into your GA4.

Track key actions performed on your website (such as a job request, quote request, or message) directly in Google Analytics 4 (GA4).

This allows you to measure your marketing performance and better understand where your conversions are coming from.

Expected result

Once properly configured:

  • You will see new job_added events appear in GA4

  • These events will be sent each time a customer interacts with your Plannit widgets

  • You can then use them as conversions in your reports

Configurations

Step 1 - Website setup

All you need to do on your website is install the Plannit widgets. These widgets link your customer journey to the conversion events sent to GA4.

Instructions for setting up the widgets can be found in your Plannit account under Settings > Website Integration.


Step 2 - Setup in Google Analytics 4

Open your Google Analytics 4 console, then:

  • Go to the Admin ⚙️ section

  • In the Data collection and modification section, select Data streams

  • Find your Measurement ID (G-XXXXXXXXXX) and copy it, you will need it later.

  • In the Events section of your Data stream, choose Measurement Protocol API Secrets

  • Click Create to create a new API Secret, you can name it Plannit or something that relates to Plannit.

  • Once created, you will see it in the list of API Secrets, click to copy the Secret value.


Step 3 - Setup in Plannit

Once you have:

  • your Measurement ID

  • your Secret Key

You must Contact us so we can connect your Plannit account to your GA4 account using this information.


Step 4 - Configuring events in GA4

Go back to your Google Analytics 4 account, then:

  • Go to the Admin ⚙️ section

  • Under Data display, select Events

  • Create a new event named job_added.

  • This event will be triggered when a customer:

    • sends a message

    • submits a quote request

    • creates a job request through your website

Result

Once properly configured, you will start receiving new events in Google Analytics 4 whenever a customer performs an action on your website (message, quote request, or job request).
